APPLICATIONS
Gelman Synerflow VDE Series Ventilated Ducted Enclosures are benchtop models for use over the existing laboratory work benches. When ducted via the building exhaust system, the VDE series enclosures provide personal and laboratory protection from odours, hazardous or noxious fumes, vapours, aerosols and fine powders.
The VDE series enclosure provides a cost-effective and versatile alternative for laboratory procedures which require only basic features for limited application.
The Gelman Synerflow VDE Series Ventilated Ducted Enclosures are suitable :
- For handling small quantities of chemical reagents or light duty fumes.
- To perform procedures such as science classroom demonstrations and simple experiments.
- Where space savings are required. Minimum laboratory and bench space is occupied by the enclosure due to its compact size.
- For transportation through standard doorways and narrow corridors.
- For use with convertible built-in or remote blower for the exhaust system.

The Gelman Synerflow VDE Series Ventilated Ducted Enclosures are extensively used as weighing stations, light duty fume hoods, science classroom workstations, solvent cleaning work bays, or for veterinary pathology and cytology.
VDE series enclosures are available with nominal work zone width of 2ft, 3ft, 4ft, 5ft or 6ft. A wide range of optional equipment enables fume enclosures to be configured to suit specific applications.
OPERATION
The Gelman Synerflow VDE Series Ventilated Ducted Enclosures maintain an average face velocity of 100fpm through the work access opening.
An effective air barrier between the operator and the work chamber, maintained by an inward flow of room air into a full-width work access opening of 10″ provides personnel and laboratory protection.
The barrier air blends with the contaminants released within the work chamber and is totally exhausted to the outside atmosphere via the building exhaust system.
