APPLICATIONS
Gelman Synerflow Vertical Laminar Flow Fume Cabinets are 100% total exhaust cabinets that combine the features of a vertical laminar flow workstation with that of a fume hood. The cabinet allows for the handling of products that must be kept contaminants free, while effectively keeping hazardous and noxious particulates and gases away from personnel.

The laminar flow fume cabinets are manufactured to the most exacting standards in full compliance with ISO 14644-1 and ASHRAE 110-1995 for product protection and fume containment.

OPERATION
Ambient air is drawn in through an easily accessible prefilter on top of the cabinet and is introduced to the work area through a supply HEPA filter which comprises the top of the work zone. HEPA-filtered vertical airflow free from airborne contaminants is projected downwards over the perforated worktop to create a biological-clean work environment for aseptic work and product protection.
An effective air barrier between the operator and the work zone, maintained by a minimum average inflow velocity of 100 fpm through the work access opening and into a full-width front grille provides personnel and environment protection.
The barrier air blends with the contaminated work area air in a sump beneath the perforated worktop and is totally exhausted to the outside atmosphere via a dedicated facility exhaust system without recirculation in the cabinet or return to the laboratory.
An Exhaust Terminal Fan Module can be installed when the building exhaust system is inadequate to overcome the static pressure of the cabinet.
