APPLICATIONS
Gelman PCR range of cabinets are widely used in polymerase chain reaction experiments for clinical and diagnostic works.The cabinets are designed to provide a high degree of personnel protection and to minimize cross-contamination of samples/experiments during PCR procedures.
Standard units operate from 230V, single phase, 50Hz.

OPERATION
The Gelman PCR DNA NV Series Non-Ventilated Cabinets are installed with a built-in high intensity Germicidal UV lamp 254nm across the full-width of the work area.
An integrated solid-state timer provides a preset time exposure to deactivate DNA and RNA contaminants during PCR techniques.
The Germicidal UV lamp will automatically switch off in preparation for the next experiment after the time has elapsed.
The Germicidal UV lamp is electrically interlinked to provide secondary surface decontamination while the cabinet is not in use.

OPERATION
The Gelman PCR RNA/DNA Series Vertical Laminar Flow Cabinets produce vertical laminar airflow, free from particulate and biological contaminants.
Ambient air is drawn in through an easily accessible prefilter on top of the cabinet to trap large particles.
The prefiltered air is introduced to the work area through a final HEPA filter.
The HEPA-filtered air is projected over the entire work surface to provide a non-turbulence, particulate-free work environment for absolute product protection.

OPERATION
The PCR RNA/DNA Class II Type A2 Series cabinets maintain a minimum average inflow velocity of 100 fpm through the work access opening.
An effective air barrier between the operator and the work zone, maintained by the inflow of room air into a full-width front grille in the work opening provides personnel and environment protection.
The barrier air blends with the contaminated work area air in a sump beneath the work surface and is partially recirculated back to the work area through a supply HEPA filter on top of the work zone.
The recirculated air is HEPA-filtered to create a biological-clean work environment for product protection.
The remaining contaminated work area air is exhausted to the laboratory or outside atmosphere after HEPA filtration.
