APPLICATIONS
Gelman PCR range of cabinets are widely used in polymerase chain reaction experiments for clinical and diagnostic works.The cabinets are designed to provide a high degree of personnel protection and to minimize cross-contamination of samples/experiments during PCR procedures.


PCR-NV Non-Ventilated Series Cabinets
PCR-NV Non-Ventilated Series Cabinets
The cabinet provides a non-ventilated, circulation-free work area to reduce cross-contamination during PCR procedures.

OPERATION
The Gelman PCR-NV Non-Ventilated Series, PCR-RA Recirculating Air Series and PCR-LAF Class 100 Series cabinets are installed with a built-in high intensity Germicidal UV lamp 254nm across the full-width of the work area.
An integrated solid-state timer provides a preset time exposure to deactivate DNA and RNA contaminants during PCR techniques.
The Germicidal UV lamp will automatically switch off in preparation for the next experiment after the time has elapsed.
The Germicidal UV lamp is electrically interlinked to provide secondary surface decontamination while the enclosure is not in use.

The Gelman PCR-RA with recirculating UV-sterilized air cabinets are installed with a built-in high intensity Germicidal UV lamp 254nm across the width of the work area.

OPERATION
The Gelman PCR-NV Non-Ventilated Series, PCR-RA Recirculating Air Series and PCR-LAF Class 100 Series cabinets are installed with a built-in high intensity Germicidal UV lamp 254nm across the full-width of the work area.

The air is constantly sterilized and projected vertically over the entire work surface to provide a biologically-clean work environments.

The cabinet provides a controlled work environment with Class 100 air cleanliness to perform polymerase chain reaction experiments and to minimize the risk of cross-contamination of the samples.


OPERATION
Ambient air is drawn in through an easily accessible prefilter on top of the cabinet to trap large particles.
The prefiltered air is introduced to the work area through a final HEPA filter which comprises the top of the work zone.
The HEPA-filtered air is projected vertically over the entire work surface to provide a non-turbulence, particulate-free work environment for absolute samples/experiments protection.
HEPA filter used is manufactured to the exacting standards for critical applications. HEPA filter is 99.99% efficiency rated for 0.3 micron particulates and protected with perforated metal grille against mechanical damage.
Prefilter arrests not less than 90% of particuates 5 micro and large protects internal components of the cabinet from gross particulates and extends HEPA filter life.
Direct drive centrifugal fan with solid-state variable fan speed controller enables correct airflow to be maintained through filter life.
Gelman PCR-LAF Class 100 Series Horizontal Laminar Flow Cabinets should be specified for applications where horizontal laminar airflow are required.

PCR RNA/DNA Class II Type A2 Series Cabinet
PCR-BSC Class II Type A2 Series Biological Safety Cabinets
The cabinet provides a high degree of personnel, product and environment protection when performing polymerase chain reaction experiments on work with low to moderate risk biological agents that require Biosafety Level 1, 2 or 3 containment.

OPERATION
The PCR RNA/DNA Class II Type A2 Series cabinets maintain a minimum average inflow velocity of 100 fpm through the work access opening.
An effective air barrier between the operator and the work zone, maintained by the inflow of room air into a full-width front grille in the work opening provides personnel and environment protection.
The barrier air blends with the contaminated work area air in a sump beneath the work surface and is partially recirculated back to the work area through a supply HEPA filter on top of the work zone.
The recirculated air is HEPA-filtered to create a biological-clean work environment for product protection.
The remaining contaminated work area air is exhausted to the laboratory or outside atmosphere after HEPA filtration.
